Trend for Cheap = Nail Art! UPDATE + Video

Everywhere I look I see nail art! My friends post the latest mani-art from their trips to the nail salon on facebook, celebs post theirs in magazines, companies are mass producing and marketing expensive "nail art polishes" with small brushes that are supposed to be easier to make designs with, or "nail art pens" that you can draw decorations with.  The polishes are going for $8 - $14+ a piece and the pens the same, and the ones I tried were low quality polishes and the pens dried out very quickly!

My cheap solution (shown in video above): buy pure ICE nail polish for about $1 from wal-mart (shown in various pictures in this post), it works great and they have a ton of colors and finishes. Then take the brush out and cut half of the bristles off so you have a thin brush that is perfect for small detailed nail art and design! With the colors I really like I will buy 2, and cut the brush of one of them.  Then I mark the lid of the one I cut with a permanent marker so I know it is for nail art.  Another easy solution is to buy a nail art paint brush kit and acetone. The brush kits I've seen at BornPrettyStore run about $2 - $4 and you're getting 3 - 15 brushes of various sizes and shapes, plus you can use my special promo code MK5W21 before Dec. 30, 2012 for 5% off! But if you'd rather not buy them online, I'm sure you can also find them at Target, Wal-Mart, or CVS.

Hope this helps you save some money and keep up with the ever evolving fashion and nail trends!  My daughter and I like to do our nails every few nights, it's a nice way to wind down after a long day at the pool! Plus it's fun, relaxing, and you get to be creative! Oh and did I mention it doesn't cost a fortune!!! And as a single mom, that always makes me HAPPY! :) Plus, there is no better mommy - daughter activity than mani pedis... Right? ;)

Let me know how it works out for you or if you have any other tricks to beat the trends! Enjoy!

Aspira Pura - Pure Joy Bottled

I had the great joy of randomly bumping into this company on Instagram, where they offered to send me a few free bottles of their water to see how I liked it.  I must say I absolutely love it, it's like pure joy bottled!  Aspira Pura is an amazingly crisp water that I just couldn't get enough of. Which is most likely due to the reverse osmosis process that adds the minerals and electrolytes, which regular purified water doesn't have, including Calcium Chloride, Potassium Bicarbonate, and Magnesium Chloride.  Another great feature of Aspira Pura is the bottles, which are BPA free. I've found through trial and error that this means that even when they are shipped in the heat your water won't get that plastic taste... if you drink cheap Wal-mart water you know what I'm talking about.  Depending where you look, this water will run you about the same price / mL as Icelandic Glacial or LIFEWTR, but that's because you're getting the same great minerals, electr

VigLink - for my bloggers!

VigLink is a way for blogs to make money, especially when google is messing up your AdSense (like they're doing to me for some reason). From what I understand they create hyperlinks on thing within your blog that you have talked about, but may not have thought to link to the company's site, because maybe they weren't your main focus. Then they give you $ for the traffic that those links (and some that you have already made) get.  In 2015 I made over $700 with VigLink, mainly due to a few of my Christmas shopping posts.  So they are totally legit! And you can make way more money than with AdSense (or at least I have in the past). Plus you can use both at the same time, so you can earn money from VigLink's links and from the ads that AdSense puts up. Win - Win!
