Our review of shows returning this summer, that you just can't miss!
I've seen a bunch of reviews, listing the "top shows of the summer" and in my opinion, no one got it right! So as an avid tv fan, I'm gonna set the record straight, with my Summer 2012 Watch List.Sci Fi - Must Sees
Game of Thrones (Sundays on HBO)
Since season two premiered in March, it's not technically a "summer show," however, since it is my favorite show of all time and it will be airing in the summer, I'm going to list it anyway! If you aren't tuning into to HBO every Sunday for this show, you are crazy! This show has everything you could ask for. It's set in a mystical-medieval type land, it's got sword fighting, kings, wars, great characters, and a supernatural element. Fans of The Tutors, Kings, Merlin, Spartacus, Rome, Camelot, and The Borgias, should check this show out!True Blood (June 10 - 9pm ET on HBO)
Of course, HBO's True Blood is on the top of everyone's list, because who doesn't love it? It's a grown up version of the popular Twilight - Vampire Diaries type shows. It's sexy, raw, and wrong, but you just can't take your eyes off of it and you never know what's gonna happen next; which is what keeps us tuning in every week!
Falling Skies (June 17 - 9pm ET on TNT)
If you didn't catch the first season of this epic alien invasion last summer, you seriously need to get caught up before the premier of season 2! This show follows a group of people trying to maintain some sort of society after narrowly surviving an alien invasion. If you are a fan of AMC's The Walking Dead, you should definitely check this show out, I think you will be an instant fan!
Teen Wolf (June 3 - 11pm ET on MTV)
This show premiered last summer on MTV, and I remember thinking, "Really, MTV and Teen Wolf, it's probably going to be a slutted down version of the movie," but I was wrong. This show was actually pretty good, and kept me coming back for more each week. It's got a little cheese factor there, being that it's directed at younger viewers, but all-in-all it was a good watch!
Summer Dramas You Don't Want to Miss
Weeds (July 1 - 10pm ET on Showtime)
We've followed Nancy Botwin and her family from their not-so-quiet Surburb roots, to Jail, and finally, last season, to New York, and I personally can't wait to see what season eight has in store for them! If you enjoy dark comedies, this show will be right up your alley!
Rizzoli & Isles (June 5 - 10pm ET on TNT)
The great crime fighting Duo returns for a third season and you don't wanna miss out! If you're a Bones, CSI, etc. fan, you will probably enjoy Rizzoli & Isles. Rizzoli is a detective and her friend Isles is the Medical Examiner and both of these strong female leads bring their own experiences and expertise to the table, to solve crimes each week.
White Collar (July 10 - 9pm on USA)
Art thief, con man, and forger, Neil Caffrey, is back this summer for the fourth season of White Collar! Working with FBI detective, Peter Burke, Neil helps pay for his life of crime by helping catch other white collar offenders.
Suits (June 14 - 10pm ET on USA)
Coming back for it's second season, Suits is a courtroom drama with a twist, that you don't want to miss!
Teen Shows We Can't Get Enough Of
Pretty Little Liars (June 5 - 8pm ET on ABC Family)
This show follows a group of high school girls who are being terrorized by "A," the person (or people) who killed their friend Allison. There are lots of crazy twists that keep us totally hooked into this great summer mystery!
Awkward (June 28 - 10:30pm ET on MTV)
Premiering last summer, Awkward introduced us to Jenna Hamilton, a high school girl who mistakenly gets labeled after she slips in the bathroom, breaking her arm and spilling pills all over the floor, leaving her parents to think she is suicidal. This dark comedy shows all Jenna's embarrassing high school moments in a funny and sarcastic light.
Jane by Design (June 5 - 9pm ET on ABC Family)
So far, Jane by Design has been a family friendly show that follows high school girl, Jane, who in attempt to help her older brother (who is her guardian) out with expenses, applies for an internship at a fashion company. When she gets the job of the top designer's secretary/ apprentice, she quickly takes on more than she bargained for.
