Born Pretty Store: Glow In the Dark Nail Polish

I just got my luminous polishes from Born Pretty Store in the mail today and I can't wait to share what I've found out about them so far!!! You probably already know that BPS is an affiliate of mine, and I absolutely LOVE their products, mainly because they are inexpensive but are of great quality! I did get these two luminous polishes for free to try and review, but I was already looking at them to buy anyway, so I just kinda lucked out when they offered them to me :)

Now if you are a regular reader (I may have 1 or 2 by now?? lol) you probably know that I am super cheap frugal, and I am always looking for a good deal (especially when it comes to my nails). SO, these two nail polishes, which run $4.99 each, are what I would consider a little on the expensive side, I generally try to spend around $1-$4 on nail polishes, just because I buy SO many of them.  BUT the good news is that I've got a promo code you can use for 5% off your total purchase (MK5W21), PLUS Born Pretty Store offers FREE shipping! And come on, it's glow in the dark nail polish!!!

The Review

The glow in the dark nail polishes I've used in the past were very think and flaky, and had a consistency more like whiteout than nail polish. Where as the fluorescent neon luminous glow in the dark nail polish #02 (pictured below- green) and fluorescent neon luminous glow in the dark nail polish #05 (pictured below- orange) have almost a gel type consistency.

After two coats, they are both nearly clear, the green gives a slightly pale green tint to the nail.  The finish of both is slightly rough, so I would recommend a top coat.  Since the color is so slight, I would recommend putting the glow in the dark polish over a colored polish simply for the glow in the dark effect, we did this on my daughter's toe nails and they turned out really cute! One thick coat of the luminous polishes created a great glow in the dark effect over ALL the colored polish, and the colored polishes looked great under the glow in the dark polishes in the light too!

Below are some pictures I took of the polishes and the results I had on my nails!

Here you can see the slight green tint
The orange is pretty clear in the light

As you can see in the pictures above, after two coats, the polishes were bright and glowing once the lights were out!!! The color and intensity of the polishes' glow is correlated to how long has past since the polish has been in the sun/ light.  If you set the polish under a light before you put it on it will glow intensely in the dark after you put it on! However if it's been in the dark for a long time, it may not glow as brightly... So, if you get this product and find it's not glowing, you may find putting out on the window seal for a 5-10 minutes will remedy that issue!

I found it rather odd that once on the nails the polish seemed to glow different colors than they did in the bottle (as you can see in pictures above) seeing as in the bottle they glow their "true" color.  BUT, honestly, I was just surprised, and happy, with the fact that they actually glowed, and glowed as well as they did!!! I can't speak for the other colors in the luminous, glow in the dark, nail polish collection, but the two that I tried worked very well and I'm very happy with them!!!

If you want to go order any of these great luminous polishes or anything else from Born Pretty Store, you can use promo code MK5W21 to get 5% off your entire purchase!!! Once this code is used 10 times BPS will host a giveaway and one of you will get a great surprise product from Born Pretty Store for FREE!!! How exciting is that!?!?!

VigLink - for my bloggers!

VigLink is a way for blogs to make money, especially when google is messing up your AdSense (like they're doing to me for some reason). From what I understand they create hyperlinks on thing within your blog that you have talked about, but may not have thought to link to the company's site, because maybe they weren't your main focus. Then they give you $ for the traffic that those links (and some that you have already made) get.  In 2015 I made over $700 with VigLink, mainly due to a few of my Christmas shopping posts.  So they are totally legit! And you can make way more money than with AdSense (or at least I have in the past). Plus you can use both at the same time, so you can earn money from VigLink's links and from the ads that AdSense puts up. Win - Win!
